ADAPTING YOUR STYLE BUT KEEPING YOUR SOUL

Be water, my friend

I have been experimenting drawing some characters on different styles for a project I’m involved with. The key thing for me is to be able to transfer your soul -your identity- across styles. I think it is quite important for an illustrator to be malleable, adapting your style to fit a project is crucial. Whether it be an art cover for an anthology, the inside illustrations for a children’s book or the art for some game cards – just to name a few examples.

In this case I’m still playing with options, I kept the pose of the character simple so it didn’t become a distraction. Once I’m happy with the style direction, the characters are going to be quite dynamic. Another thing I’m itching to try is the colour palette, I have a few option in mind.

I’ll keep you posted! 😀
